You have somehow stumbled upon my little corner of the internet. Now you may be asking yourself, “wait, who is this girl?” or “why am I here?”. Most likely, you were guided this way from my Tiktok, where a few months ago I got the hair-brained idea to yap about my experience getting PA school paid for by a scholarship program and posted some fun travel pics along the way.
HOPEFULLY, that means you are a fellow girly (or non-girly – no discrimination here) in ~ or ~ hoping to be in medicine, that feels that there needs to be more community out there. You feel there needs to be more safe spaces where we can talk about not only medicine, but the life we live after we hang up the stethoscope for the day. Bonus points if you are a fellow eldest daughter (IYKYK).
So I guess a little more about me … I am a 30 (yes 30) year old, first generation girly in medicine, TYPE A, anxious leaning eldest daughter who loves to pack up a suitcase and travel every chance she gets. When I’m not jet-setting, I am also a first time homeowner, dog Mom, and I help out my bestie behind the scenes with a local monthly vintage clothing and antiques market in the Triangle area of NC.
Many of you on Tiktok messaged me asking for more info about my experience applying to and completing PA school, paying for school with the NHSC scholarship, and my service in a rural family medicine clinic. Hopefully, I will be able to put some of that in writing and create a central spot to dump everything in my brain that I give you the TLDR version of on Tiktok. I’m excited to see where this goes, and excited to have you with me on the journey.
